Review

The best Bull of Heaven song on RYM according to the reviews... This should be good... The song starts with a guitar and drum segment, similar to rock more than the drone tracks Bull of Heaven have created in the past. Its a strong start, because its so different to other tracks from Bull of Heaven. The track changes at about 2 minutes to use a different type of drum, something like a hand drum, from here, the track starts to gain intensity and speed, with new instruments in the background with the guitar and drums, before slowing down back to how the song was. But then, the song starts to use lots of new things, like a symbal crash, and also very distorted electronic guitar sounds, sounding something like a machine because of the strange way the sounds are used. Theres lots of other sounds now, mostly guitar, and the song continues to add more different things, with a different guitar sequence, while the band tries other things to play. At the 18 minute mark, the song quiets down, before becoming loud and lively a little bit later. The song is very different to before, the guitar over the drum and bass plays a different rhythm, and it also sounds very strange, like electronic distortion. Its hard to write about this to be honest, because the song throws lots of ideas around its hard to recognise when something changes, and before you know the song is completely different. Obviously, this is because of the fact that the song was created from parts of jam sessions from Bull of Heaven and thrown together by Clayton to create a unique track, when there arent any similar moments and everything is different whilst staying coherent. The song uses the change and lively atmosphere to do nearly anything. For example, the song changes from a lively and loud atmosphere to become quiter and to focus on different ways of using the instruments, maybe from a different jam session to the last part... Its an interesting song to be honest, and the amount of changes is very different to other Bull of Heaven tracks, and Lân thinks that the ideas in the song are executed very well. However, for Lân, she doesnt think the song is better than some other pieces from Bull of Heaven, she doesnt want to say that the song is poor, but there are definitely better tracks. It sounds good and its a display of talent from Bull of Heaven, however the song isnt a favorite thing of Lân. She will give a higher score to the song because of the talent behind the song, but it feels more like a 7/10 than an 8. Theres some interesting pieces with the distortion at about 1 hour, but lots of the song feels a little boring to Lân? Despite the lively atmosphere, its strange.
